World Book Day 2023

On Thursday 9th March, Lightwater Village School dressed in their best book-themed costumes and celebrated World Book Day!

We had a costume catwalk in front of the whole school and the staff joined in too.

Then we all enjoyed an assembly and book reading from author Kerry McIntosh, and some Year 1 children asked some excellent questions, the best being from William, which was “How are authors made?” Kerry then spent some time with Year 2, helping them to see all the excellent qualities they have. Some children bought copies of her book “Rory Green, Secret Agent to the Queen” and had them signed.

Thank you to parents and carers for all your costume efforts – the children looked amazing and really enjoyed their book-themed day at school.
