GLF Schools

GLF Schools was founded in 2012 in order to enable the federation of Glyn School (an academy in 2011) and Danetree Junior School. Together, we began our journey to become a MAT of more than 1000 talented staff working with over 10,000 children in 40 schools across 5 regions in southern England.

Safeguarding

Hammond Junior School is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment.

This means that we have a Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy and procedures in place which can be viewed on this page. All staff (including supply staff, volunteers and governors) must ensure that they are aware of these procedures.

Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child’s welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our pupils are discussed with their parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child’s welfare

What to do if you are concerned...

If you are concerned about a child’s welfare, please record your concern and any observations or conversation heard and report to the DSL as soon as possible the same day. DO NOT conduct your own investigation. If your concerns relate to the actions or behaviour of a member of staff (which could suggest that s/he is unsuitable to work with children) then you should report this to one of the safeguarding leads in confidence.  If the concern relates to the Headteacher, you should report it to the Chair of Governors, Mrs Sravya Gupta who will consider what action needs to be taken.

If you feel a child is in immediate danger please call 999.

You can report concerns to:

  • Surrey Children's Single Point of Access (C-SPA) - cspa@surreycc.gov.uk or 0300 470 9100 between 9am and 5pm Monday to Friday.
  • Surrey Emergency Duty Team - 01483 517898 or edt.ssd@surreycc.gov.uk between 5pm and 6am Monday-Friday, 24hrs at weekends and over Bank Holiday Periods.
  • NSPCC- online at How to Report Child Abuse Without Any Worries | NSPCC, via telephone 0808 800 5000 or by email at help@NSPCC.org.uk
